WiZMe questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about meeting people nearby with WiZMe.
What is WiZMe?
WiZMe is a free iPhone app for meeting new people in real life. You pick what you're up for (coffee, co-working, learning, mentoring and more), see people nearby who are up for the same, and chat once you both say YUP.
Is WiZMe a dating app?
No. It's built around what you're up for, called your VYBE, and most VYBEs are about coffee, work, learning and exploring. You decide what a connection turns into.
Is it free?
WiZMe is free to download on the App Store.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone today. Android is on the way: join the waitlist.
What do VYBE, FLICK, YUP and YEA! mean?
VYBE is what you're up for right now. FLICK is swiping through people on your VYBE. YUP means you'd like to meet someone. YEA! is when you both said YUP. See How it works for the full walkthrough.
Who can see me?
Nobody, until you tap Go up. While you're up, people nearby on the same VYBE can see you. Stop, or let your timer (15 minutes up to "until I leave") run out, and you disappear.
Does anyone see my exact location?
No. Your exact location is never shared with other users. They only see roughly how far away you are.
How does WiZMe find people near me?
With your approximate location while you're up. WiZMe matches you with people in the same small area; your exact position is never shared.
Can anyone message me out of the blue?
No. Chat opens only after you both YUP. Nobody can message you first.
If I YUP someone, do they know?
Yes. They see your YUP in their Chats and can YUP you back or ignore it. No chat opens unless they YUP you back.
What's the YEA tab?
A list of plans people have posted near you, like coffee before a flight or co-working at a café. Tap YUP to join, or post your own with the + button. Plans expire on their own.
How is WiZMe different from other social apps?
It's about the people actually near you, not a feed to scroll. You pick what you're up for, connections are mutual-only, and chat unlocks only after a YEA!, so it gets you meeting in person instead of staring at a screen.
Are profiles verified?
Not yet. A verified badge based on a short face-liveness check is in development. Until it ships, no profile has the badge. Every profile has a photo and a name, and you can block or report anyone in one tap.
How old do I need to be?
You must be at least 18 to use WiZMe.
How do I block or report someone?
Open their profile or chat and tap Block or Report. Blocks are immediate, and reporting someone also blocks them.
How do I delete my account?
In the app go to Settings → Delete account, or email support@wizme.life. Deleting removes your profile and associated content.
Which permissions does WiZMe ask for?
Location (approximate only) for finding people nearby, camera and photos for your profile picture, and notifications for YUPs and messages. You can change any of them in iOS Settings → WiZMe.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell your data and we don't track you across other apps or sites for ads. See the Privacy Policy.
I have a problem. Who do I contact?
Email support@wizme.life and include your iOS version and app version. You'll find the version in Settings in the app.
